Monica Winter Vigil

Monica Winter Vigil holds a Master of Arts Degree in Mass Communications-Screenwriting from California State University Northridge’s Cinema/TV School.  A graduate of The University of New Mexico (BA Theatre), Ms. Vigil also studied at Marymount Manhattan College in New York City and California State University Los Angeles. Ms. Vigil is a recipient of the Kennedy Center Awards for Meritorious Achievement as "Assistant Director" and "Rehearsal Stage Manager." 

Ms. Vigil has directed and produced for more than ten years. At age 16, Ms. Vigil directed, produced, and starred in a full-length benefit production of Neil Simon’s Rumors.   Ms. Vigil began her film work as a script supervisor under the mentorship of Christopher Coppola at the Digifest Southwest International Film Festival for the sci-fi hit Atom Smasher. She has also studied comedy writing with famed comedy writer and actor Digby Wolfe (The Wild Wild West, Laugh-In). In addition to her work with Digifest in New Mexico, Ms. Vigil also worked on several of the New Mexico Lottery commercials for Firecreek Productions.



In Los Angeles, she has worked on several television programs including the #1 Daytime Drama The Young and the Restless, the Court TV reality hit Fake Out, and Nickelodeon’s family series Rhodes Home. She recently co-produced and directed Somewhere In Between, also starring Ms. Engelhardt.  The film made its festival debut last June in Wisconsin at the Ole Muddy Film Festival.  In December 2005 Somewhere In Between premiered in the Southwest at the Santa Fe Film Festival.  In 2003, Ms. Vigil produced the half hour (Super 16) short film A Peace of History.  Ms. Vigil is also the co-founder of the Gimme Credit Screenplay Competition.

Ms. Vigil’s previous directorial credits include: Into the Woods, Baby with the Bathwater, Showbiz Weekly, the Tempest, Impromptu, The Real Thing, Suburbia, Medea, Token to the Moon, and Nuts.  Other writing credits include: The One for Me, Tractor Soup, Showbiz Weekly, and Set Freaks. 

Highway 101 was written and conceived as a tribute to the city and culture that is Albuquerque.

Ms. Vigil also has several years experience working in the commercial real estate industry as a property manager/consultant for several commercial rental properties.  Ms. Vigil recently created a real estate investment company with Erica Engelhardt.

Erica Engelhardt

Erica Engelhardt began performing at age three and continued through high school, where she performed in dance shows at amusement parks and other competitions. She majored in Theatre and Dance at San Francisco State University.  After taking a year off to work in London’s West End, she transferred to California State University Los Angeles to finish her studies in Theatre.  After Ms. Engelhardt received her B.A., she immediately began working on film sets as a costumer.  She also worked as an intern at the Ladd Company (Blade Runner, Braveheart, The Right Stuff, The Brady Bunch Movies), where she familiarized herself with the workings of a production company and performed script coverage (reading and writing opinions of scripts) and worked alongside Emmy-winner Damon Lindelof (Lost). Ms. Engelhardt then became a manager in a multi-million dollar student travel agency.  She balanced the budget, supervised a large staff and acted as lead negotiator for major airline contracts.

In 2002, Ms. Engelhardt returned to the entertainment industry. She again worked on several films as a costumer, including the 2004 Tribeca Film Festival selection 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover (starring Poppy Montgomery, Tori Spelling, Jennifer Westfeldt and Fred Willard. She acted as Costume Designer for Skeleton Man (featuring Michael Rooker and Casper Van Dien).

In 2003, Ms. Vigil and Ms. Engelhardt formed the production company, Lourdes Enterprises, and produced a 30-minute short for a promising young writer/director. In the film, entitled A Peace of History, Ms. Engelhardt also made an appearance in a supporting role and acted as Costume Designer for over thirty actors.  Ms. Engelhardt most recently co-produced and starred in the short Somewhere In Between, directed by Ms. Vigil, which is currently touring the festival circuit.

Ms. Engelhardt studied commercial acting with the renowned acting teacher Carolyne Barry, improv with the legendary Donovan Scott (Popeye, Police Academy, Life with Lucy) and scene study with Eric Zivot, creator of the revolutionary Triune Brain Method of study.  Ms. Engelhardt appeared in the Disney hit Flubber, the television show Nash Bridges and several independent films.  Theatrical credits include A Midsummer Night's Dream, A Streetcar Named Desire, Millennium Approaches [from Angels in America], Ivanov, Twelve Angry Women & Finian's Rainbow with Josh Groban.  

Besides film, Ms. Engelhardt's passions include travel, adventures and philanthropy.  She has traveled to over thirty countries, lived in three and completed four marathons, raising over $8,000 for AIDS Project Los Angeles in the process.
